How it affects what you read

It does not affect the sizing advice, and structurally it cannot: the recommendations on this site are arithmetic. A queen bed needs 18–24" of rug on each side regardless of who sells you the rug, and a dining chair needs 24" of clearance whatever the commission rate is.

Where a guide names a retailer, it is because the retailer stocks the size or construction being discussed. If a guide tells you a size will not work in your room, that advice stands even though it means you buy nothing.
