There is an enormous amount of rug inspiration on the internet and very little rug information. You can look at ten thousand photographs of beautiful rooms and still not know whether an 8′×10′ works in yours.

This site exists to answer the second question. Every guide leads with one number you can check with a tape measure — how far the rug reaches past the bed, how far a chair travels when it is pulled back, how much bare floor is left at the wall — and only afterwards talks about how it will look.

The diagrams are real drawings

Every plan view on this site is drawn to scale. The rooms are the dimensions labelled on them, the furniture is standard American sizing, and the clearances shown are the measured distances. If a diagram says 30″ of bare floor, that gap is 30″ at the drawing's scale.

You can hold a ruler to the screen and check. That was the point of drawing them rather than photographing them.

Everything is in US measurements

Feet and inches, American room names, American standard furniture dimensions, American rug sizes. A queen mattress here is 60″×80″. A three-seat sofa is 84–90″. Rug sizes are 5×7, 8×10, 9×12.

The room on the homepage

The living room on the front page is a real-time drawing rather than a photograph, built at true scale: fifteen feet by twelve, a seven-foot sofa, a four-foot coffee table. When you change the rug size, the rug changes to that exact size and the clearances update to match. Nothing about it is illustrative.

What this site does not do

It does not sell rugs, hold stock, ship anything, or process payments. It does not rank brands or publish reviews of individual rugs. It is a sizing reference, and keeping it to that is what lets it stay useful.
